Dental practitioners around the world are trained and educated to treat symptoms of disease. This is reflected in the medical model of healthcare which is well-equipped to manage acute problems such as pain, infection and trauma.

Chronic medical conditions (non-communicable diseases) are more difficult to manage and are seemingly becoming more common, although not normal, alongside the use of prescription drugs with their countless side effects. Such problems include, but are not limited to:

  • headaches

  • sleep-related problems

  • clenching/grinding of the teeth

  • jaw and facial pain

It is crucial to address the underlying causes of disease, which often have multiple influences, rather than just a single isolated factor. This undoubtedly and unequivocally results in better long-term health outcomes including reducing the risk of expensive ‘emergency’ treatments and the overall burden of disease.

If you are suffering from any of the above, feel free to complete our initial intake form found in the resources tab and out team will be in touch!
